For Christmas 1978 Santa got me 'Heroes' by David Bowie. I wasn't really into his earlier work (apart from the singles) but this album changed all that. In '76 Bowie moved to West Berlin to escape the excesses of Los Angeles. There he teamed up with Brian Eno and Tony Visconti to produce what would later become known as the 'Berlin Trilogy' (Low, Heroes and Lodger) in what Rolling Stone described as "...some of the most innovative music in the artist's influential canon." Looking back now the move was definitely a good idea.
